Well you know we've been talking about the color packs we made for our Semi-Annual
Bag Sale Saturday,
June 3rd from 8 am to 3 pm, come rain or shine...
Elaine and I have been boxing them up ready to transport to the store
on the big day! Even as I pack each one, I fall in love over and over
again! The yarn looks great! And so many things go through my mind as I
look at them. I have to be careful not to keep them all for myself.
So we wanted to be sure that you could fall in love with them
as well and not worry about what in the world you would make out of
them. Each package is a variety of complimentary colors in different
textures.

 Anyway, we decided to have a special day
"Designing with Gaby", where you can come in with
the yarn you bought during the bag sale and we can brainstorm all kinds
of ideas on what to do with it. I thought about saying that I will write
you a pattern, but in reality there probably won't be time enough for me
to do that for every one. So we ask that you swatch your yarn, try
different needle sizes and stitches and get acquainted with your yarn.
DON'T cut the yarn! You'll want to use it again. We just want to see
what would look best with what you choose and then we can take a gauge
off of that sample swatch. It will also spark our imagination and the
swatch will "talk" to us and tell us what it wants to be.
So, mark
your calendar for Saturday, June 10th from 9 am to 4 pm. It will be
on a first come, first serve basis!
The other evening when I was at the store I had a conversation with a
lady which made me want to share the following with you...
Sometimes you might come in and you're not sure which yarn you want for
your project and other times you are just overwhelmed with the huge
variety of yarns that we carry. I like to tell you to just grab a basket
and walk around the store and put in the basket ANY yarn that appeals to
you. Do not worry about colors, just put the yarn in your basket and
move on around the store. Perhaps you don't know which yarns would be
best for your project and we really don't know which textures and colors
are your very favorite. So if you gather the yarns that YOU like, then
we can spread them on a table and talk with you and help you to
fine-tune your selection and you will come away with just the right yarn
for your project. It really helps! Try it the next time you come in.
