I hope you had a very special Easter and Passover and have enjoyed lots and lots of chocolate! We would like to offer you another "chocolate" of sorts and that is the opportunity to participate in all of the special events we have planned for you at the store.

At Yarn Lady, we have been wondering how we can help both new and experienced knitters with new ideas and new talents and we have decided to bring you many, many workshops and events. As I'm writing this, I am heavily involved in getting ready to go to Stitches Mid-West and Stitches East. Perhaps you are familiar with these events... Stitches is all about lots and lots of great yarn and lots and lots of classes and workshops. Well, if you think about it, we bring Stitches to YOU right here at our store! (b?luc?o@co?.ne?) We have lots and lots of great yarns and we have lots and lots of classes and workshops...

Here is a list of the next few we have scheduled for you, just so you can mark your calendar and tie a ribbon around your finger so you remember to sign up:

TODAY is the day when Laura Bryant of PRISM yarns will be at our store. This is a very special treat because Laura doesn't do many store appearances. Tonight she will host a first (to my knowledge) PRISM YARN TASTING. That's right: you get to actually sample these wonderful hand dyed yarns that make Prism Yarns the first name in Novelty Yarns. After the tasting, Laura will also be on hand to sign book plates for her upcoming book.

TOMORROW, Laura is teaching her special workshop which she entitled: "Stuff ON!!" She wanted you to experience making a garment out of her fabulous "Stuff" but we all know that this can get kind of pricey since it would take more than one hank for most sizes. To help that and to teach you to be creative with colors and texture and to help you find a use for all of that stash yarn you have accumulated, Laura decided to help you design a project incorporating a hank of "Stuff" along with your stash yarn.

On a personal note:

I'll be leaving for a week this weekend to join my brothers and sister for a celebration for what would have been our Mother's birthday. Her wish was that this should be a happy event and we are looking forward to making it so. Thanks to all who have sent me such kind and loving notes and for caring enough to do so.
