has fun with
Home School Kids
and their Parents!

Recently, we invited a group of home schooled children to come to the store to learn how to knit. Cherie offered to sew 50 draw-string bags, so each child so could have their own bag to fill with yarn, make-shift needles (chop sticks), and other fun goodies! Arlene had the idea for the chop sticks and made several trips to the store to get the right ones.

On the day of the event, we came to the realization that most of the children were too little to really learn so we did the next best thing, "finger knitting." Julianna and the "girls" had prepared themselves and made sure that they were up on the finger knitting. Some of the children even started a competition to see who could finger knit the fastest. We taught about five of the older children how to knit with needles, and by the end of the morning everyone was knitting away.

After everyone had learned all they could, we went out to the front and had a little picnic of juice, raisins, fresh fruit and fun fruit snacks!!

Everyone had a great time, and we all thought it was a great way to start our day before opening the store!
